While I understand where you’re coming from, I’m not sure that I agree. To be sure, we do many things outside the technical scope of our contracts because it helps our programs, but giving up a holiday during the middle of the summer is a big deal. I’ve done it before, and I’ll tell you what happens. “They” are never satisfied, and you open a door that’s very difficult to close. Remember, you are a paid professional. It may be worth it to you and your program, but be aware that at some point you have to tell people “no” or it will never stop.
