You have ZERO guarantee that they're not going to walk in, play four or five very ugly sounds, and then leave. Or worse - they try. But try badly, taking up up to ten minutes of the judging panel's time while they fumble through an etude they haven't looked at. Meanwhile, we're expected to allow them to continue and not cut them off even though they're obviously and wildly unprepared.
If a kid's not interested, your job is to make them figure out they should be - not throw mandates around.
We sometimes have over a hundred auditions to get through. Please respect your colleagues, SCREEN your auditioners, and don't make kids come that don't want to be there.
