That area is not biased to military bands. In 2A Area C, there were FIVE corps style judges this year. The military bands won because they were better.
What about the disparity and obvious bias in favor of military bands in that area in the other classifications? It is by far the hardest area in the state in 2A.
It has been clearly stated that if a kid misses a turn and gets out of step in a military band that "judges' don't count that in the total performance", when they do for other bands. A corps band's sets are harped on if the intervals are off.
Not sour grapes, I assure you.
Spring Hill is an awesome band, and I enjoy a good military band. Just look at both sides before slamming.
Spring Hill got 2nd at their area against north lamar by only a little. They beat lcm, paris, and lumberton, all corps bands... At state having their best performance, no mistakes, amazing music, and perfect lines,got 17th place. They were behind all the bands they beat at area.
China springs got 20th at state despite having an amazing performance as well.
Why is there such a basis against military bands?
