Re: NPNP and University honor band
Since this is considered a "public performance" and an extra-curricular activity, I do believe eligibility comes into play here.
Read the TEA/UIL Side-by-Side for more information. If you are not familiar with this document, download it and give a copy to your building principal (mine didn't even know what it was until I gave him a copy last year). It really opened up his eyes and helped him deal with parents who had questions.
When in doubt, shoot an email to Dr. Kent at the UIL music office. He will respond in a timely manner on the subject.
Local University is hosting an "honor band." I nominate kids, they may or may not be accepted. If kids are accepted, they will pay into the booster account the cost, boosters will write one check to the university. The event is on a Saturday. Students/parents are responsible for transportation, no school bus is involved. I'm not taking part in the day except to attend the concert.
Would this event be affected by NPNP?
