Re: Clarinets Crossing the Break
Have them play three finger C and then press register key to go to G without moving any fingers. Then add right hand fingers down, one at a time, no register, then register. This will help them to develop their "voicing" with their tongue. Then start working on jumping from the A to all fingers down, but cheat and leave the right hand down while you are playing the A.
My JH Clarinets are having a hard time crossing the break. Specifically going from A to B or A to C.....They can get D and higher no problem though.
Are there any exercises or anything else I can use to help them out with that? Especially something that would help while in the full band setting
