Re: Tubas and Beards
Not tuba but trombone player. I keep the mustache shaved, but let the rest grow. Only issue I have is making sure that when I hit the trigger, I don't grab my beard between my thumb and the trigger. Done that many many times and it doesn't feel good! Lol!
Hello Yellow Boarders. This odd-sounding question is for all of my beard-wielding tuba friends out there: Do you notice a distinct difference in your tone quality when in full bearded glory vs. when you have shaved? And follow up question: how do you make sure you still get a good tone and even seal on the mouthpiece when your whiskers are in full growth? I am by no means a great tuba player, but I can get a good sound when I am clean-shaven. However, I always feel like I sound God-awful when I have my beard. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
