Re: Private Lesson Price
The other poster (so far) spoke of variable rates. I do that as well. Many of my students come from a title 1 school so parents balk at anything. I've had students pay in bbq (worked at a local bbq place), tamales, yard work, and even venison (alternate for state on bari). Work with the kids because $100/month +/- isn't a big deal, the benefit to the student is. Consider what other teachers in the area (close to the area) are charging and measure your qualifications (and desire to break into that market) accordingly.
Yes, that is why I am trying to get a big picture. I am just west of the DFW area and trying to see where we are compared to the rest of the state.
Thanks for your feedback!
A good portion of pricing is location. The market in Silsbee is different from Alvord/Arlington/Austin. Major metropolitan areas will support higher rates (especially if youíre good). Donít expect $150/mo even with a Doctorate if youíre in the middle of nowhere.
I am trying to collect some data on private lesson prices across the state. I have put a poll out, please consider giving your feedback, it is greatly appreciated!
