Re: compensation for unused state sick days
Basic answer - nothing from the state. Local districts may compensate but there are no state guidelines, and it is my impression that this is usually the larger districts. Mine did at the sub rate. However, because so many people were walking with really big checks (mine was $25,000+) that they had started a formula that reduced the days credit you got for a year based on numbers of absences.
Do retirees get any compensation for unused state sick days? (I am not interested in buying them back.)
