Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Valid Secondary or All-Level Music Texas teaching certificate.
College Hours in Mariachi Methods or Professional Mariachi Performance Experience
At Least one year student teaching or approved intership
Knowledge and skills in teaching methods and strategies in voice and mariachi instruments, including violin, trumpet, vihuela, guitar, and guitarron
Knowledge and skills in teaching mariachi styles
Knowlege of technolgoy (MIDI applications, Smart Music, Finale, Sibelius)
Skill in the use of technology and knowledge of appropriate software for musical event and contest registration.
Demonstrated evidence of responsibility, competence, enthusiasm and imagination.
Demonstrated ability to foster cooperation and establish a professional relationship with other staff members.
Demonstrated success in promoting positive public relations within the community.
Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining students in the program.
Demonstrated success in motivating students to excel.
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
