Re: Marching Band Field Dots Help
If you want to keep the same interval from sideline to sideline, then make your dots 45 inches (3 feet, 9 inches) apart. You will have a dot on the front hash, but will come up short between the hashes. If you want to ensure that your dot ends up on the back hash, then inside the hashes your dots will have to be 48 inches (4 feet) apart.
We had Field Dots come paint our field a few years ago and their template is 45 inches between every 2 step dot. It took a bit of getting used to but I think it was better this way. If you have any kind of block formation that is both in front of and behind the hash, you will need to have the same intervals so the diagonals are straight.
OK, I'm a little lost. I can't find a great answer on how many feet and inches I need to measure out for a two step interval. I know Teaxs Football uses NCAA hashmarks. I also know that the step changes slightly between the hashes. I just need help.
