I realize that jobs start opening up a little later and that most admin has a lot to worry about at this time of the school year what with STAAR and end-of-year duties and such. However, it's also not very good because the 45-day contract lock-in makes it very hard to get a job in that small window between the beginning of June and the contract deadline that is usually at the beginning of July.
So my question is this. If I don't end up finding a job in time, and I end up deciding that being jobless for a month or two is better than coming back here (I'm close to that point right now, honestly), if I don't end up getting anything in July or August, what if I was a sub for a while? How badly would that hurt my chances of being hired on later as a Middle School assistant director or something similar?
Thanks for your advice!
