Cold calling is by far the most annoying. It is to the point I don't answer unless I know who is calling. Also if a fundraiser person leaves a voicemail it is quickly deleted.
Emails are just ok, I might read them but probably will not. It's cheap though so I guess fire away an email.
Snail mailing is probably the most successful way to get to me outside of the word of mouth method the previous post mentioned however it is not very successful with me.
TMEA and word of mouth as well as just being an outstanding fundraiser to begin with all work the best. Don't offer me 20% profit and expect me to pay any attention to you, and the less work I have to do the better. Fundraising is a chore that most everyone hates, make it less of a chore with good products/services and a good profit percentage and then I am listening.
