No, not by a long shot. Is it different than the others? Yes. It doesn't really follow the same pattern. There are some parts that could have been thinned out a bit, but everything either pushes the story forward in some way, adds to character development, or sets up (or calls back to) something later I don't think I would call it the best (it does add more humor that most SW moves - outside of the prequels - don't have). Unlike "TFA" where is was almost a direct copy of "ANH", "TLJ" is more like a combination (at times) between "ESB" and "RotJ" (at least several parts of it), while still being it's own creation. I think the main problem some "fans" have is the aforementioned humor. Some seems like it would fit into "Spaceball" or one of the "Family Guy" SW episodes, but those spots are (intentionally) laugh out loud funny and fit with the characters or situations. The humor is not as subtle as the three originals (and not slapstick stupid like the prequels), but it works. I'm not the biggest SW fan (my wife is a HUGE SW fan), but I found it highly enjoyable. My wife ranks it 3rd among the "episode" movies (behind "ESB" and "ANH") and fourth out of all (just behind "Rogue One").
