Last night our boosters added a clause to the bylaws stating that aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc could be elected as a booster officer if their family member is a student in the band (Originally parents only, but we've had issues with people volunteering as officers in the past).
One parent brought up if an older sibling wanted to serve as an officer would that be allowed.
My personal feelings on this is that we should put an age minimum on it, at least 25 if they're a sibling. My fear is a 19 year old brother of a student is now going on a trip with 18 year old girls.
So two questions for you:
First, do you allow older siblings to serve on your booster officer board?
If yes, is there an age requirement?
