My father was an AD/HFB coach in both small and large schools (and won state titles), and he called the expansion of the bracket so more teams can bring in money, "A load of BS". The reason being that the deeper the team goes into the playoffs, the farther away from home they have to play, with more travel expenses incurred just to get to the game(s), and fewer fans travelling to the game. The only teams that have any shot of making money in the playoffs are the ones located near DFW, and play all of their games in the DFW area. Anyone else, they are losing money.
We missed the playoffs...again. All we needed to do was win ONE district game. Even though I love football, when we are close to being eliminated from playoff contention, I always start thinking of the Jim Mora "Playoffs?" rant.
