Okay, the last Mighty showed that one of the hmans being replaced can influence the Skrull replacing them. Pym was more heroic and smarter than the alien in his place. Spider-Woman might not be smarter but she is more heroic than Veranke but that needn't be how it works. I think Bendis was setting up the way Veranke goes down and at the same time planted a red herring that it might be Pym who saves the day. Since Bendis' Fury is no idiot and a long planner, that scene of him being honest with Spider-Woman about the invasion has to have a pay off as well. I now believe Fury realized Jessica's status with SHIELD, HYDRA, Madripoor, both coasts, and the super-hero community had planted a giant bullseye on her back and planted something in Jessica's mind. That Veranke herself replaced Spider-Woman is gravy. Just at Earth's darkest hour Fury will trip the mind bomb and goodbye Veranke! Any thoughts?
