Obviously they would feel "vindicated" in the sense that this would "explain" how Jessica creamed Logan in the Savage Land, but as you said, Jessica's history and set of powers perfectly explain that scene.'
Up in the Bendis board there is a theory (that I totally agree with and you, VH, have also speculated on): The Skrull empress tried to take down Jessica, and Jessica killed her.
OMG, if that is true, can you imagine how that scene must've played out?
I bet we will see a kickass action scene ala Kill BIll's Vernita versus Beatrix fight but with superpowers.
(Well, I can dream...)

: Another thing to consider is that at this
: point, she is just shown the hologram of
: Spider-Woman. There is nothing to say that
: she was replaced. And I know, like you,
: people have been whining saying that it
: would "explain" how she almost
: killed Wolverine in the Savage Land in the
: first isues of New Avengers, but we know
: that's crap and something she could have
: done easily.
:
: The fanboy in me and probably you and
: others is thinking it out like this: the
: Skrull empress tracked down Spider-Woman,
: tried to kill her and got iced.
: Spider-Woman don't play around, remember.
: And I would not be shocked if Veranke was
: too proud to not have a Skrull hitsquad with
: her to take down Jessica, as she thought she
: could take her down by studying her.
:
: Of course, this is all abject speculation.
