I played baseball and basketball in high school with him as one of my coaches. He was huge and a very cool guy. I ended up on atheletic scholarship at the university of Missouri, but of course was from the Belleville, IL area (Freeburg high). I didn't have much contact when he started traveling with his softball career. We got along pretty good during my high school years. I'm glad to say I knew him.
