A few questions for you truly big hitters? Do you hit home runs because of the all the time you spend at batting practice with your friends or do you only hit home runs because of how much money you can spend on your bat? If you’re the latter, do you feel like you’re a coward or a cheater? If you knew that you were actually hurting the softball community, would you be man enough to change for the love of the game?
Without you knowing it, you’ve changed the course of softball history. You have pushed out the poor man, which up to 10 years ago, was what softball was all about. Because of these new bats, the leagues and the cities (lawyer fees) have to purchase and make everyone play with slower moving balls. Good ball players with no money could no longer compete and stopped playing, which causes a chain effect. The chain effect is there are less ball players playing which means less teams playing, which means less leagues playing, which means higher entry fees spread amongst the few, separating you from even more good ball players making great plays.
The cheap bats of old (with the new balls) have become obsolete and cannot be used for competition other than family reunions or pounding that nail in the house in an emergency. In the old days if you wanted to be a good hitter you practiced and you practiced with blisters and respect. Now, the poor guy who cannot afford these bats that cost up to $500 (by the way, some become illegal faster than the battery dies on my cell phone), is now handicapped and can no longer play on a level playing ground with a guy than can waste THAT much money. These bats and the men that buy them have single handedly become the demise of the game. Those of us that loved playing baseball as a child could put together a team to go out for very little money, have fun, play hard and make wonderful memories. Sadly, that no longer exists.
All because of the next best bat available, the game as it was intended to be is gone. Why don’t you put down your expensive, rolled, illegal, juiced, new composite, broke in bat and pick up a $20 bat and everybody uses that one…then let’s play ball. Give me your best between the white lines that a true competitor. If you can’t beat me by using my cheap ass bat, then I guess that just makes me a better ball player than you.
Bring back the day when the city lights were on every night of the week and all you had to do was show up and you could play, a stranger could meet new friends. No one cared what kind of bat or glove you had, they were just glad you showed up to help and have some fun. The big hitters took the time to teach, they weren’t selfish with their knowledge and they sure is hell weren’t scared to let someone else use their bat.
Softball is FOR FUN…..everyone playing on the same level playing field, some are gonna hit em’ long and some aren’t.

know that the true big hitters can hit them with any bat right?!! Hey either you can hit or you can't. It takes a little bit of practice and a whole bunch of batting practice. But what is happening is the industry has got us wanting, with only 6 swings a week, to be the MAN and to spend up to $500 (if you have that much to waste), dumb! Just cause of your ego you buy the best and still can't hit your way out of a double play. The city leaques knows the bat is juiced and have to keep buying slower moving balls which disables us (poor hard working joes)who can not afford them from hitting the big ones. More people are getting hurt with bats being used by a untalented man who can not play as well and gets lucky once in awhile. That lucky guys ends up hurting someone.... not cool for the working man who is just out there to blow off some steam, now he may even lose work days, or even if its too bad maybe his job. Oh wait theres more, once your ego has bought the BEST BAT ever made it goes illegal in 6 months. Now you own nuttin but a sick feeling in the depths of you gut, it pisses you off. But your ego gets you again and again and again. When will it ever stop? Lets just go back to simple aluminum bats that were less than $20, wrapper and all. You did not want to roll it, break it in, you got in the box and hit it out of the yard; whether its 100 degrees or 20, you hit the home run, not with the money spent on the damn thing, but with your god given talent. So bring back the 50 core ball and cheap bats, i dare you to compete with the poor man, one on one. You money boys would lose. Any thoughts from you (true big hitters)????
PLAY AS HARD AS YOU CAN BETWEEN THE WHITE LINES LIKE A REAL MAN!!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE IT EVEN AND LET THE BEST MAN WIN!!!!!!
