My Dad played fastpitch softball from the time he was six years old until he retired in 1972. He passed away in 1984. I am trying to find information on leagues that were around Norfolk, Virginia during the 1940's. He has a gold softball on a chain from a championship in 1946. He told me this was semi-pro ball and he started paying with the team when he was 15 ao that was about 1938. Does anyone know anything about this? He joined the Air Force in 1951 and played for them from then on. He was the best pitcher I have ever seen.
