: The long awaited Grant Morrision concept,
: "Multiversity" will see print in
: Summer 2011. "Multiversity" will
: be a series of one-shots, each set on a
: different earth in the DC multiverse, and
: act as potential launching pads for new
: on-going series.
:
: The earth-5 entry starring Captain Marvel
: will be titled "Thunderworld" and
: will be drawn by Cameron Stewart. If it is
: well recieved by fans, it could be the best
: chance to get a new Captain Marvel series
: outside of the Johnny DC line.
:
Well this is what I have thought for a long time which is the Shazam concept needs its own universe. It also cant be just a copycat Superman family earth but needs that unique,off-beat,sense of goofy view background that the comic had so long ago. However it will also need an updated feel that means grounded enough to appeal to modern readers. All in all a very tall order indeed but Morrison and Stewart are creators that can do exactly that if given the chance and freedom. This could be the comic that brings Captain Marvel etc.into the spotlight.
