This is a mixed blessing, as Johns is a very good writer who seems to have respect for the Marvel Family, but he has a history of focusing his stories on Black Adam, while Captain Marvel gets pushed in the background.
IMO, Alex Ross, who wrote the most perfect DC portrayal of Captain Marvel to date, in "Justice", should be brought onto this project with Johns as a co-writer and cover artist. Johns and Ross have worked together on JSA and even planned on doing a Captain Marvel series together prior to the hideous Judd Winick "Trials Of Shazam". This would be the best way to go.
