I'm a fan of both heroes as well but as far as KIngdom Come, How do you see Superman getting whooped, he took all of Marvel's lightning and bled a little when he heard the planes with the nukes coming he moved so fast as to stop Marvel from saying Shazam again, then gave Billy the chance to be a hero again by giving him the choice, continue fighting with Supes or stop the Nuke, and let's not forget Marvel was killed by the explosion along with a lot of the other heroes and villians while Superman not only survived but appeared to be totally unaffected by the blast.

: i'm a big fan of both these heros, but ever
: since a "stronger" superman got
: whopped in kingdom come, i've come to love
: captain marvel even more. i even wanted to
: see captain marvel jr. throw down with
: superboy prime in infinte crisis, but after
: seeing black adam's attack having no effect
: i knew that wouldn't happen. but maybe in
: the future dc can give us a fight between
: mary marvel & supergirl. and is it just
: me, or is sivana just getting punked though
: out dc's stories? in superman: red son, he's
: luther's underling, in superman/shazam:
: first thunder he plays second to luther, and
: in infite crisis there's a panel of an
: alternate earth showing luther holding a
: strangled lil sivana in his hands. but back
: to "clash", superman can't hang
: with marvel, supes would have to use every
: single extened power he has just to stay in
: the fight. a much better fight i think would
: be between captain marvel and wonder woman
: or as long as fans don't vote for the
: winner, marvel vs thor, imagine loki vs
: black adam! bottem line is the marvel family
: has too much power for a yellow sun powered
: kryptonian. action comics #768 has superman
: being granted with the power of captain
: marvel in this weired story, and all supes
: can say is, "i had no idea... what
: power." or something like that, check
: it out for yourself if you dont believe me.
: paz.

: It seems like the official story from DC is
: that Captain Marvel is a Superman imitator.
: "Clash" even has Cap admitting it
: himself. But is that the real story ? Let's
: see...Superman was created first...but
: that's about it. Who was first to have a
: bald headed mad scientist for an enemy?
: Captain Marvel. Dr Sivana appeared in Cap's
: first story. Luther didn't appear until
: late 1940, months later, and he had a full
: head of red hair. It was only after Sivana
: became so popular with readers did DC make
: Luthor bald to copy him. Who flew first ?
: Captain Marvel was flying under his own
: power very early on while Superman was still
: only leaping an eighth of a mile. DC copied
: Fawcett again. Cap was also completely
: invunerable before Superman was... so DC had
: to do Fawcett one better by giving Superman
: super-senses. Capt Marvel Jr and Mary Marvel
: were created years before Superboy and
: Supergirl. Heck, even Hoppy the Marvel Bunny
: appeared before Krypto the Superdog! The
: classic SUPERMAN THE MOVIE seems to have
: borrowed from Captain Marvel as well as
: Superman comics: After Krypton explodes, Jor
: El becomes very much a Shazam like spirit
: who counsels Superman in a Fortress that is
: reminecent of the Rock of Eternity. Miss
: Teschmacher is much closer to Beautia than
: any Superman comic book character. Even Otis
: seems more like a henchman you'd find in a
: Capt Marvel adventure. And just who was the
: very first comic book superhero to fly
: across the silver screen in live action. Not
: Superman, who made his live action debut in
: 1948...it was Captain Marvel in the classic
: Republic serial of 1941. In the 1970s, Clark
: Kent became a TV reporter in the comics.
: Billy Batson had been a TV reporter since
: the 1950s (and a radio reporter before
: that).
: I don't see how Capt Marvel is a Superman
: imitator...what I see is Superman wanting to
: be just like Captain Marvel...and THOSE are
: the FACTS !!
:
:
: That was written superbly. I couldn't have
: said that any better..You definitely kept it
: real on that one. Watch out, the superman
: fanatics (and i do mean fanatics) are going
: to be after your head now..hahahahaha..you
: know in the DCU, you're not to question
: supes place in it under any circumstance..
