sweetie? wtf? it's safe to say that we are all here cuz we dig the cap. but i feel that these characters have got to evolve, and that has to be a very hard and delicate job to pull off, especially for characters made in the 30's & 40's. my question to you is how would you handle captain marvel?

: Sweetie, it's not crap. Many manga series
: were/are inspired by both Disney films such
: as Snow White and Golden and Silver Age
: comics. I was attempting to point out that
: THE ORIGINAL Billy, Mary and Freddy were the
: INSPIRATIONS for many of the characters Viz,
: TokyoPop and other manga publishers put out
: today, NOT the other way around.
:
: I already know about Luthor, Superboy,
: Supergirl and Krypto being pale imitations
: of Sivana, Junior, Mary (and both she and
: Supergirl were created by Otto Binder!) and
: Hoppy. In fact, going one step further, you
: could say that Brainiac was a pale, unfunny,
: "humanized" version of Mr. Mind.
:
: Trials of SHAZAM is a very weak attempt
: (IMO) at what you're clamoring for
: ("getting rid of the "Holy
: Moley" that's held him down for so
: long"). I'ts not MY cuppa tea, but
: maybe you'll like it.

: where do these guys get this manga crap?
: luther is a clone of sivana, superboy &
: suprgirl are clones of captain marvel jr.
: and mary marvel, & krypto's a knock off
: of hoppy the marvel bunny. just give credit
: to captain marvel for being superman's one
: true match. i'll admit the that the
: cheesyness has got to go, but is that as bad
: as wearing red underwear? dc messed up with
: captain marvel way too much in the 33 years
: that they had him and now it's time the cap
: be taken seriously. they need to get rid of
: the "holy moly" that's held him
: back for so long.
