Posted by David Limbaugh Here is my first stab at it: Postseason: Week 1 - District Tournaments Week 2 - Regionals Way it works now - Monday D1-champ hosts D2-secondplace and D1-2nd goes to D2-Champ - loser's season ends Wednesday - Winners meet - but both teams still advance Friday - Winner of Wednesday stays home and loser travels to other region - loser's season ends Problem with this system? - One good pitcher gets you to Memphis - ya just HAVE to win on Monday and Friday My Suggestion for week #2: Region 1 and 2's 1st and 2nd place district teams meet in 8 team, double elimination tournament - top 2 advance Bracket: Sunday (Yes, Sunday) Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Thursday is the big game - top TWO teams advance to Memphis. G14(15) decides bracket placement in state tournament This leaves Saturday and Sunday for rain makeup - just like the current set up does - and Friday's game isn't a MUST play game either ;-) If this was in place, what might have been in Region 3 and 4? Sunday Monday (Results are just hypothetical ya understand :-) G5) LG1] Coffee County at LG2] Red Bank Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Note - the same 'final four' as the result this year - just a lot more pitching :-) What do ya think?
