I just bought a 4yr old american saddlebred who is still very green and has been ridden very little in the last two years. We are slowly making progress but often when I am on him he will randomly stop as if saying " sorry im done now" and REFUSES to move forward and often tries to rear up.. but i turn him in a small circle before he can.. hitting him with the crop and kciking doesnt seem to phase him.. just make him try harder to attempt to rear.. if anyone has ANY suggestions.. i would love it thanks!
