Subject: Saddlebreds need a home
My name is Melissa and my husband works for a development company in the Twin Cities Metro area (MN). The owner of the company has 3 purebred saddlebreds at his farm in Hutchinson that need a home. There is a mare, her 2 year old colt and her 3 year old colt. These horses have had very little care other than feed, water and shelter for several years. I can not guarantee that the colts are gelded as the owners are often not there and they have someone who is supposed to be in charge of feeding and caring for the horses, but is scared of them. I went to see them on Saturday and they are gorgeous and have beautiful movement but are too much for my family and our “herd” to take in at this time. They are not halter trained to my knowledge although through the grapevine around the farm we have learned that the mare did have a halter on until recently so she might very well have had some training in the past. We are looking for a rescue group to take in one or more of these animals ASAP as when we told Daryl (the owner) that we couldn’t take them his reply was to just put them down. Please contact me at this email for more information if you would be able to help: melissa.a.onsager@isd2198.k12.mn.us
