Apart from pro wrestling, you never see that on US television, much less Korean. I didn't even know that gesture was known (or understood) outside the US.
Finally got lucky on the Korean Wednesday night "Best Theater". The heroine was a unifomed medical professional: a nurse, or maybe a doctor. She was seen smoking twice (!), and she even gave a cigarette to an elderly patient - and got in trouble for it.
