I agree with Adam in that you would probably be better off with a Mini DV camcorder than a still camera. The one Adam has shown here looks perfect.
On the other hand, I use a prosumer Sony Mini DV Camera (TRV900), and don't have any problems with drivers on a standard (non Sony) PC (it may not work so well the other way around though)
