But I think it is an excellent question because you sure don't see Yahoo clubs, message boards, videos (Dr. Cyclops the exception), etc. for strictly a white lovers, black lovers, or (you fill in the color/ethnicity) sub-fetish. We Asian lovers must stand out to those not in our "group"; I never really realized that before, but I guess I can understand your curiosity in that context. Okay, first, I imagine that most guys in our sub-fetish prefer Asians to non-Asians whether they smoke or not. Not everyone perhaps, but probably most. I certainly do and have since I dated my first Japanese girlfriend in university 16 years ago. I dated some white girls after her, and when I was in the military I actually asked to get posted to Germany or England ahead of Japan (luckily (?) for me, got sent to Japan), but since living in Japan I've never dated a non-Asian. Second, for me body size is key. Everything else being equal, more slender and more petite women who smoke turn me on more than bigger women. I suspect that is largely why I very rarely get turned on seeing a black lady smoke; they tend to carry more body weight than just about any other ethnic group. Even when I see a picture of a black lady smoking a cigar, (and I have a strong cigar sub-fetish), I don't think much of it because it just seems like she _should_ be able to handle a cigar. Put that cigar in the hands of a woman who weighs less than 55 kilograms, as many Japanese women do, and I am in heaven. But it's more than that. (It's never simple to explain these sub-fetishes, is it?!) I also like to see Japanese women smoke VS lights or a similar menthol light. To me, an all-white 100 balanced with an Asian's slender fingers is a perfect match. The absolute perfect proportion. All-white and cork kings don't do much for me visually, but if they are a strong Japanese brand like Seven Stars, or Marlboro reds, you have the tar-to-body weight thing going, as you do with the cigars. Culture still has a part to do with it, though here in Japan it really isn't nearly as taboo as it used to be (and still is in many Asian countries) for women to smoke. The largest group of smokers is probably single women in their 20s; after they get married, and especially after they have kids, there is still a lot of pressure on them to quit smoking and most of them do. But where culture comes into play the most is the workplace. Japanese women are not allowed to smoke at their desks, having to sneak up to the roof or the bathroom, while Japanese men not only smoke at their desks but usually have their ashtrays emptied and cleaned by the women! As much as I don't like the inequality of it all, the fact that the women are more restricted in their smoking is a plus as far as my sub-fetish for Asian women goes. Another reason for me: fashion. As I pointed out to PH and Jim (SG) as we were walking down a street in Hiroshima yesterday afternoon, Japanese women (and I suspect most Asians) are simply better dressed on the average than the American women that got me started on my smoke fetish. Although jeans are popular (and expensive) here, because women here are rarely in need of going on a diet I'd say 90 percent of them or more can wear a mini-skirt and their hips and legs look damned fine. So you do see a lot of them wearing nicer clothes than just jeans and a T-shirt. If you think about it, most of the smoking fetish videos out right now have dressed up women; you wouldn't have to do that with Japanese women because they're dressed up (according to Western standards) most of their free time anyway. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here because like I said at the top, if you don't have it now, you probably couldn't understand it no matter how hard and in how much detail I tried to explain it as it applies to me. But, thanks for wondering and asking. A fellow asked on that board why some of us have a particular liking for Asian women who smoke. I tried to answer for myself (what you see pasted below), but I would like for some of you to post over there also if you get the chance. I would look forward to reading your comments.
