Posted by Chris The U Prefix Navy's that are the RARE Navy Surplus Pistols returned to SIGARMS prior to or after the NSW limited (2000) SIGS were released, Do NOT have a Rail and have a U Prefix that starts with U then 6xx xxx... another words yours was made and released long after the overrun NAVY SIGS E26-9-NAVY with the U prefix serial number which again that starts with a U then a number six... It's this simple and I've seen a lot of people post on this topic... I can honestly say I am an authority on this matter because I own one of the overrun E26-9-NAVY with the U prefix serial numbers I am one of 30 to 400 as I have heard from many including SIGARMS... I would happily post a picture of it it's never been fired and it is NOT FOR SALE! So... either the original NSW limited (2000) editions or the ULTRA RARE Navy Surplus models are the only ones with any significant value to a collector! Also... my gun came with a certificate of auth which is even more rare! Because I have heard some did and some did not... SIG simply put a sticker with the U 6 serial number over where a NSW serial number would have been printed... SIG must of had some extra certificates...? I got lucky... I was just wanting an NSW... I hope this helps...
