Bryan..No only can you convert from 9mm to 40S&W, but you can also use the same parts for 357SIG.
You need a 40SW or 357SIG slide (complete assembly), plus barrel & mags for the appropriate caliber. 40 and 357 use same mag. You also need recoil spring and guide. A friend of mine and I have done this at the range using the parts from each otrher's 226s. It's not only a blast, but rather practical to have one gun, 3 calibers.
