I served on board from 1982 to the end. Still recall the last day when we all marched off for the last time. I still message boards in my hand. 
Didn't know what to do with them so I kept them. I also served on the Swordfish (very next day) and finished up on the USS Michigan SSBN 727. Talk about night and day. A floating hotel.
I was a radioman and worked with Phil Yates, Maurice Pretto,Mark Hefly. Those were some important years in my life and I still recall them often. I have stayed in touch with several shipmates. Feel free to contact me. I now live in Temple, TX. Between Waco and Austin on I-35. I have been married for almost 20 years. Met her in Hawaii while I was assigned to admiral staff at Subpac in Pearl Harbor.
