When we bought our Bristol Caravel, it had two rod holders on the stern. The previous owner installed them to keep his children occupied, but he soon realized that the speed of the boat was perfect to troll for walleye.
Also, most cruisers in big boats drag a line for fresh fish to supplement their food stores.
