Jan Nicolaisen's rigging piece

Does anyone review these tech pieces for engineering soundness. Most of the things that are mentioned are mildly inappropriate for a contemporary deck stepped rig but the aluminium toe rail being used as the major attachment for the shrouds seems totally wrong. Dave
