This year's Commencement bay Maritime Fest Quick & Dirty Boat Building Competition will be held on August 29th at the Dock Building on the Thea Foss Waterway. Teams of 3 are given 6 hours to build a boat from supplied materials to your own design. They then race the boat (or at least row it around a course) to prove it's seaworthiness (or not). There are many awards in various categories. You can make your boat fast or you can make your boat fun. Either way it's a great time.
