Hello all!
I just wrote the check for a 1981 Dolphin 22 sloop yesterday, and was wondering if anyone out there could help me with any background information about the design. I have found virtually nothing on the internet, and little from other sources so far. About all I know is that her design draft is 2'8" (shoal draft fixed keel), with a design displacement of 3250 lbs. and a loa of ~22.3 ft. From Coast Guard records, it appears she was built in June of 1981 by Advanced Sailboats (who was building all the Dolphin designs at the time, such as the Dolphin Sr.), and that the company went out of business around 1983 (?). She seems very well built and we can't wait to clean her up and get out on the water, but I am curious if anyone knows more or if there are other owners out there. Ours is hull no. 29 and will be sailed on lake Oologah, OK.
