Funny because many of the guys I know blame their big boat fever on age!... They pretext some lack of agility or things like that to get a bigger boat. They should say "cabin"! 
I think the opposite makes better sense. A small boat is so easier to sail and the small cabin helps you in not losing the agility you have. A small boat keep you young in fact!
