With respect to towing Dauntless: You don't have to have a dually 1-ton like I do. I towed her all the way from Florida to AZ with Jo's Chevy Tahoe, but you are right...you are not going to tow her with a Toyota Tacoma, that's for sure!
Yes, we've sailed out of San Carlos twice but not on Dauntless. I'd like to go back and take her down there, but honestly, I'm just not that comfortable getting down there. Towing through the border towns does not excite me at all. That being said, sooner or later I'll get brave enough, again, maybe tagging along with a group like the Tucson Yacht Club of Lake Pleasant Sailing Club out of Phoenix. San Carlos is a beautiful area and I'd love to sail across and spend some time on Baja.
