yep, that's it. carl has it absolutely nailed. so why isn't somebody building it for the masses? give it a very competitive base price, with packages going up from there. sorta like the pc world. start simple and go up. where is the 'dell' of trailer-sailers? we already have enough (apple) mac type boats, like the rhodes 22, and the newer ones don't have much charm. the rv world is in exactly the same malaise. high-end gets all the attention, since the profit's there.
