The Sanibel ( also know as Skippers Mate and Commodore's Mate )
sailboat would fit the bill very nicely. The boats have a cabin that fits two with luggage. Well, maybe not a whole lot of luggage. Perfect boat for shallow water cruising, the swingkeel/center board retracts completely into the hull and is offset to port to give a clear cabin floor. Short offshore crossings could be handled easily. The only problem, there aren't many on the used market. Florida and the east coast is the best used hunting grounds, and new ones are available from IM, the company that makes the Potter 19 & 15, both nice sailboats as well. < imsaliboats.com >
My question is, how did you talk the boss into going with you, did you make some outlandish promises?
