Thank you for all of your responses. Although this boat is new to us I have a bit over twenty years sailing under my keel. My first boat a 1969 seaquest 26 came with no motor, even if it had one I wouldnt have been able to pay for even a gallon of fuel at the time. Since I never had an engine I didnt know any better. Since then I have owned 10 other boats some with motors some with out. Its funny the only stress I ever really feel on a boat is when my motor is running. It seems I am just waiting for it to stall. We have entertained a small 5hp that would basically only be good for berthing but still love the idea of none. I remember one evening sailing into Two Harbours at Calatlina Island motorless. We gently worked our way into the anchorage. It was just before sunset and very calm. I had already lit the charcol BBQ and had fire bazing off the stern rail Buffet on my portable radio and sailed at about one knot. Within seconds of securing the boat we had a raging applause from surrounding boats. Not an easy thing to do but It was a great feeling. Alan
