Your Allegra is a beautiful boat - perhaps a better cruiser than a FC22.
You may find most strong "anti-motor" sentiments you encounter are the result of extensive reading of books that support that view, as opposed to actual sailing experience that supports it. I drank that same kool-aid many years ago, but my sailing experience has taught me an auxiliary is rather handy.
It is fun to try and use the motor as little as possible, and it should be applauded.
Your site (looks nice) indicates you haven't sailed the boat a lot. Remember when reading a great book like the Pardey's that is "anti-motor", that Larry had years of extensive sailing experience before he set out on their engineless boat.
I suspect you'll want an engine in the mix, especially as you are learning more about how your boat sails. If you discover otherwise - you are a better sailor than I.....
