I have had small camp stove propane tanks relief valve or poor ball valve hiss like snakes (on more than one tank), only they are far more dangerous, NEVER/EVER store them below decks.
Heavier than air goes right for the bilges, to wait and hope for a spark.
I wouldn't think one would want anything electric (solar or otherwise) cutting it self on right by combustables either, but maybe I am missing something, don't think so.
I recently lost long term very dear friend to a LP Boat explosion, he became a human cannon ball, blown clean from the boat in the air, burned over much of his body, then died in the hospital...I can say this: its just NOT desirable...
