The rolling gets faster and thus more violent. In your case I would probably drop the keel off all together and then internally ballast the boat after I got done with the conversion. Just launch it and add ballast until it is floating at about the same water line it had before. This way you can compensate for the weight of material and shift in CG twith little pain. Dave
