I have a piece of small line on the lantern bail about 18 inches long. I half hitch this to the rolled up jib or to our inner forestay or whatever seems appropriate for the direction people might be coming from. The line allows it to be a safe distance from the rig or sails (sails melt at a much lower temp than you would think). Use "Liquid Parrafin or Liquid candle wax" it saves a lot of cleaning of the lamp. Dave
