... I must confess that I was slightly misled by the clue for #10: "I was an Empress. I managed to make my husband Emperor as well." I assumed that we were looking for someone who was already an Empress before she managed to procure the rank for her husband. Although Maria Theresia was certainly Archduchess of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Queen of Bohemia in her own right from the death of her father in 1740 (though her claim to the Bohemian throne was challenged at first by Karl Albrecht of Bavaria / Emperor Karl VII), her title of Empress came precisely from the fact that she managed to get her husband elected as Holy Roman Emperor in 1745. Prior to his election she was a reigning Queen, but not an Empress (so her title of Empress was really "only" that of an Empress Consort).
Sorry, I'll stop now.
Great quiz, Robert, as always!!
