Henry Gibson, 3-season cast member of the highly popular 60's comedy show "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In", died this past Monday of cancer at his home in Malibu. He was 73.
After landing several small roles in the 60's, Gibson made his mark in television history from 1968 to 1971 as a cast regular on "Laugh-In". His most popular shtick was the flower-child poet who would come out on stage with a giant flower in his hand and recite poems "by Henry Gibson". He was also featured as the priest from the cocktail-party sketches.
Gibson, a native of Germantown, PA, is survived by three sons.
