Mary Travers, blonde beauty of legendary folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary, died last night after a long battle with leukemia. She was 72 years young.
Among the trio's many hits: "Blowin' In The Wind", "Puff The Magic Dragon", "If I Had A Hammer", "I Dig Rock and Roll Music" and their only #1 hit "Leaving On A Jet Plane"
Mary, survived by two daughters, had been performing with her longtime cohorts Peter Yarrow and Paul Stookey until just a few months ago. Even though she needed physical assistance on stage, her sweet voice never failed her.
