There were, in fact, two released versions of "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place". It is said that the version EMI sent to the U.S. for distribution on MGM is an "outtake" version sent by mistake.
UK ("correct") version: "Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin! Watch his hair turning grey!"
US ("outtake") version: "See my daddy in bed a-dyin! See his hair turning grey!"
Also, the US version is a microtad slower than the UK version
The UK "correct" version first appeared in the US on the "Best Of The Animals" compilation (Abkco 4324) in 1987. The US "outtake" has never appeared in the UK.
